PARTNERSHIPS FOR INNOVATION

COMPONENT 1: TARGETED RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP PROJECTS

Objectives

The purpose of this research grant program is to foster interaction and partnership among university- and college-level researchers, economic and government partners, and potential research-result users in areas of strategic importance for Québec. It is aimed at:

  • Enhancing training in new skills and scientific and technological expertise for which Québec has a pressing need;

  • Interesting Québec researchers to engage in research and training in areas where there are priority needs expressed by the government, institutions and industries;

  • Encouraging the training and development of emerging research teams and consolidation of existing teams;

  • Increasing research potential in fields deemed priorities for Québec and thus ensuring there is a future pool of scientists;

  • Fostering links between Québec, Canadian and international researchers recognized as leaders.

Eligibility

  • University- and college-level researchers working in Québec;

  • The project must be team-based and meet the research needs set out by program partners.

Financial assistance

Financial assistance in the form of a grant ranging from $45,000 to $85,000 a year for a non-renewable two-to-three year project. The grant payment terms are detailed in the call for proposals guide.
