PARTNERSHIPS FOR INNOVATION
The new programming announced is conditional in the approval of the ministre du Développement économique, de l’Innovation et de l’Exportation
Today’s context is one in which the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies is called to play a leading role in knowledge transfer and developing and enhancing research. Globalization of the labour market, research development through academic-corporate partnerships, and the retirement of Valorisation-Recherche Québec are some of the factors that the Fonds must take into account in what it does.
Thus far, the Actions concertées program has been the Fonds’s main partnership development vehicle. Other action strategies must be used to propel the innovation movement in targeted sectors or fields.
This is why Partnerships for Innovation, a three-pronged program, was created. Its primary objective was to improve the innovative capability of Québec businesses in priority sectors by banking on partnerships between universities, companies, government research centres and college technology transfer centres.
